Killing of rodents is an ancient practice that does not find favor in the modern age. This has to be done by poisonous chemicals, which are enviro-unfriendly. If the rat dies unnoticed, and takes time to locate, it might get opened by other pests and thus spread diseases. Driving away of rodents and other pests is therefore considered the "in” thing.
The most commonly adopted method is to use ultrasonic pest repellers. These consist of an electronic device, which generates ultrasonic frequencies that seriously disturb and dis-orientate the audible and nervous systems of these rodents, and make them run away from their present habitat.
Ultrasound is sound whose frequency is above 20kHz, and is beyond human hearing. Normally most human hear sounds below 20Hz. PD-01 uses sweep frequencies from 30kHz to 85 which are harmless to humans & children, and almost all pets like dogs an cats.
The main purpose in using sweep sound, which is a set of mixed and continuously variable frequencies, is to prevent rodents and other Pests from getting immunised against a particular frequency, and thus effectively drive them away. A specially designed transducer circuit in the repeller ensures that the sound pressure level is at least l00dB , on the average, at all the sweep frequencies generated. The complex signal pulses at between 60-80 times per second act as a jack-hammer. The auditory stress so generated makes it inhospitable for the rodents to continue In the same place, which run away, without even a formal goodbye to the host!

Place the repellers near all entrances
of people, servants, etc. To prevent
the entry of rodents. The repellers
should be placed at a height of about
one meter above
ground level, directed towards the floor near the middle
of the door- openings preferably. This will enable the
bouncing of ultrasound, and increase the inhospitability
to rodents.
In case of rodents already existing in the habitats, place
these at a height of about one meter above ground level,
in rooms like the kitchen, store- room, etc. from where
they
would most likely obtain their store of food. And make sure
that the wring is covered, and passes through strong
sheeting
Since sound does not travel through screens, furniture,
etc. the repellers should be placed so that the ultrasound
travels, as far as possible in an unobstructed manner.
Sound waves should be freely audible
Sound waves shouldn't be blocked.
Preferably direct the waves to the corners or smooth surfaces, so that the bouncing effect will increase the sound pressure
Keep the repller on line all the time
The repeller must be kept ON all the time., and
not switched off and on.
A glowing red LED lamp shows that the repeller
is working.
